Bethlehem Inn is a non-denominational, community-based facility providing shelter, help, and hope to those experiencing homelessness in Central Oregon. Our president, Mark Huffman, volunteers as the project coordinator for Bethlehem Inn. As such, he is the bridge between the shelter’s board members and the builder and attends construction meetings while providing on-site supervision. In addition, Mark helps the group with fundraising and is a point of contact with new construction.

Bend Habitat works with qualified, deserving families to help them realize the dream of owning their own home. Relying on volunteers in the community, the nonprofit aims to put a roof over every head. Mark held a board position with Bend Habitat for Humanity for five years. While he is now more behind the scenes, he helped raise money for the nonprofit by participating in a “building blitz.” During the event, he raised the frame of a house in four hours. Ask him about the competition with Pahlisch Homes and he will tell you a good story! Now, Mark donates to the program and attends fundraisers.
